  ThispaperfocusesonthestudyofthesimilaritiesbetweenFitzgeraldandGatsbyonthebasisofthenovel,TheGreatGatsby,whichconsistsofseveralpartsasfollows:
  thefirstpartgivesthebriefintroduction,inwhichtheearlydaysofFitzgeraldandtheappearanceofGatsbyareintroduced。FromthewaysFitzgeraldusedtogetthesuccessandtheclassicpostureGatsbyownedinthedarkness,wegettoknowthattheyarewaitingforsomethingwhichisthesymbolofthewealthandthesocialposition。
  ThesecondpartfocusesonthedetailedanalysisofthesimilaritiesbetweenFitzgeraldandGatsby,whichincludestheiroccupation,thewaytheypursuetheirtopgirl,thewaystheyloveandcherishtheirtopgirl,andthewaytofacethecruelandfalsesociety,fromtheanalysiswelearnthatbothofthempossessanenthusiasticillusionforromanticlovewithinnocenceandnaiveness。
