　　Sadhguru speaks about the significance of New Year, and explains why every day and every beginning is worth celebrating. He also speaks about the immense privilege of being human and tells us to exercise this choice in the New Year.
　　萨古鲁谈到了新年的意义，并解释了为何每一天和每一个开始都是值得庆祝的。他还说到了我们生而为人所具备的巨大特权，并告诉我们在新的一年要践行出来。
　　Sadhguru:   So... ＂Sadhguru, the year is coming to a close. What should I plan for my next year?＂ I would like you to think... see, there isn＂t a great advantage in what I＂m going to say now, you will live very long. That is, I would like you to consider 24 hours as one year. Hello? In great celebration you go to sleep today, every day, because you treat every day as a year. It＂s a cycle of time. I＂m sure, probably, I don＂t know, ants, earthworms, or some other, maybe even the... the Corona guy, so, whatever this virus, probably it＂s counting 24 hours as a year. Many other life forms may be experiencing life like this. Like people say for a dog, a dog＂s one year is 10 years for a human being, or 10 years for a human being is one year for a dog, whatever calculations we have. So, I would like you to count every day as one year. Big celebration!
　　Sadhguru（萨古鲁）：  那么……＂萨古鲁，今年马上就要结束了。我该为自己的来年做个什么样的规划呢？＂我希望你们能这么想……我接下来要讲的并没有很大的优势，因为你们会活很久。那就是，我希望你们把二十四小时当成是一年。行吗？今天你怀着巨大的庆贺之心入睡，每天都如此，因为你把每天都当作是一年。这是一个时间周期。我敢说，也许，我不知道蚂蚁、蚯蚓或者什么的，甚至新冠病毒这个家伙也如此，不管这个病毒是什么，也许它把二十四小时就当成是一年。其它许多生物大概也是这么体验生命的。比如人们说，对于一只狗而言，狗活一年相当于人活十年，或者说人活十年相当于狗活一年，不管我们怎么算。那么，我希望你们把每一天都当成是一年。巨大的欢庆！
　　Why is it a new day as important as a new year? That＂s all I＂m trying to ask you. Why is a new day, which starts in a most glorious way all over the world, spectacular sunrises happen. Well, very few people have seen, others are watching on their phone screens. It rises any time you want on the phone screen, that＂s the advantage of that. So, when such a spectacular event is happening every day in the morning, why is it not a new beginning? Every day is a new beginning. ＂Sadhguru, you＂re spoiling, we are planning a celebration, you are spoiling it, Sadhguru!＂ No! I＂m saying, even 1st of January is the same thing. It is also worthy of celebration, but I＂m saying every day it begins in such a grand way, it is worthy of celebration. The only problem is, your mental cycles have gotten into this phase that it needs a whole lot of support and preparation, and a lot of things.
　　我想问你们的不过是：新的一天为什么就不能和新的一年同等重要呢？新的一天在全世界都是以无比灿烂的形式开启的，那壮观的日出。很少有人见过，其他人只在手机屏幕上看到。你什么时候想在手机屏幕里看日出都行，这是看手机的优势。既然这么壮观的事情每天早上都有，为什么那不算是新的开始？每一天都是一个新的开始。＂萨古鲁你在扫我们的兴，我们在计划怎么庆祝呢，都让你给搅坏了，萨古鲁。＂不是，我的意思是，连1月1日也是一样的，也是值得庆贺的。但我说的是，每一天都是以如此宏大的方式开始的，是值得庆贺的。唯一的问题是，你头脑里的周期已经发展到这个阶段，即它需要大量的支持和准备，以及许多东西。
　　This happened. Shankaran Pillai had attended a [Laughter] satsang like this, and he took this seriously, and every day in the evening, he was at the bar, drinking away. And every day he was late to his work. And the boss was just about to fire him. He was done with him, he told him any number of times, but he always came an hour, an hour and a half late. And then... he had a friend who also was his bar colleague. [Laughs] No, when you do something so regularly, he becomes your colleague, otherwise he may be just your buddy, okay? So... but that guy was going to the office bang on time. So, Shankaran Pillai said, ＂How do you manage this? Both of us go home at the same time, both of us drink about the same quantities, but you are always at the office on time.＂
　　发生过这样一件事。山卡拉·皮莱参加了（笑声）一个像这样的satsang，并且认真地记到了心里。每天晚上他都在酒吧喝得酩酊大醉。并且每天上班都迟到。老板于是要炒了他。他已经受够了，老板告诉过他无数次了，但他总是晚到一到一个半小时。他有个朋友，也是他的酒吧同事。（笑）不，当你们那么有规律地做某件事情的时候，那人就成了你的同事，要不然，他可能就只是你的伙计，是吧？那么……但那个家伙却总能准时上班。于是山卡拉·皮莱问他，＂你是怎么做到的？我们俩同时回家，喝得也一样多，你怎么就能准时到办公室？＂
　　So, the friend said, ＂What I do is... see, normally, we are going home by 12 o＂clock, I sleep immediatelly. At 2 o＂clock in the morning I wake up and have another shot of whiskey, I sleep. At 4 o＂clock I wake up and have another 2 shots of whiskey. And then I wake up at 8 o＂clock and I＂m 9 o＂clock in the office. Shankaran Pillai thought, ＂Let me also try it.＂ And he went and tried the same thing. And to his amazement he woke up at 8:30, and he rushed to the office. He made it just before 9:30. The boss was furious. He said, ＂This is it! You＂re done, you＂re fired!＂ He said, ＂Why? Every day I was coming an hour, an hour and a half late, today I＂m only 27 minutes late!＂ ＂What do you mean 27 minutes? Where were you on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday?＂ [Laughter/Applause]
　　于是这位朋友说，＂我是这么做的，你看，我们通常十二点回家，我立马就睡觉。早上两点的时候，我会起来再喝杯威士忌。然后睡到四点，起来再喝两杯威士忌。然后我在八点起来，九点就在办公室了。＂山卡拉·皮莱想：＂我也试试。＂于是他也这么做了。出乎意料的是，他八点半醒来，然后就往办公室赶。在快九点半的时候到了，老板大发雷霆。他说，＂够了，你完了，你被炒了！＂他说，＂为什么？每天我都迟到一到一个半小时，今天才迟到了二十七分钟！＂＂什么二十七分钟啊？你周一、周二、周三到哪里去了？＂（笑声/掌声）
　　So, where were you on all these 364 or 3 days? And suddenly you＂re in a celebration mode. Everybody should ask this question to themselves: why is it that you were not celebrating these 364 days, only one day you＂re trying to celebrate? I＂m not trying to say you never were happy, you never were joyful this year, but I＂m saying it＂s extremely important, because... the nature of life is, it is rolling away, that＂s what a new year means. That is, it is not stopping for you. Whether you are locked up in the house, or you are locked up in the office, or you were in the gutter, it doesn＂t matter, time is rolling away. Time is rolling away means life is rolling away.
　　所以你那364天或363天去哪了？突然间，你就进入了庆祝模式。每个人都该扪心自问：为什么那364天你不庆祝，只有这一天你才庆祝？我不是说你今年从没快乐过，从没开心过，我说的是庆祝是极为重要的，因为……生命的本质是，它在流逝，这就是新的一年的意思。也就是说，它不会为你驻足。无论你是被关在家里，被关在办公室里，还是穷困潦倒，都不重要，时间都在流逝着。时间在流逝意味着生命在流逝。
　　So, when this is the nature of life, that time is a ceaseless mill going on, there is a different way to approach time. The most important thing is that a human being has to learn to be... still. ＂So, if I don＂t do anything, will it be useful?＂ You need to really examine this whole year: have you been busy, or have you been preoccupied? You think if your RPM in the head increases, you are busy? No, you are not busy, you become inefficient. To generate one sensible thought you are generating 10,000 thoughts – that is inefficiency! One thought that you need to act, that＂s all you need. Why do you need 10,000 thoughts to arrive at that, if at all, if you ever arrive at that?
　　既然生命的本质是如此，时间像个永不停转的磨盘一样，那就有另一种不同的对待时间的方式。最重要的事情就是人要学会……静下来。＂那如果我什么都不做的话，那样行吗？＂你需要切实地回顾一下，这一整年：你是真的忙还是思虑重？你觉着如果你脑子转得快了，就算忙吗？不，你那不叫忙，只是变得效率低下了。为了产生一个明智的想法，你需要产生一万个念头——那是低效！你只需要一个想法去行动，仅此而已。你为什么需要一万个想法才能得出结论？如果真的，如果你真的得出结论的话。
　　So, this inefficiency, do not call it busy. This is just preoccupation. This preoccupation has become a global phenomena now, because people do not know how to sit, how to breathe, how to hold themselves up, because nowhere in the education system it is there. They told you if you eat protein, vitamin, this, this, this, you will be fine, everything will be okay. You will survive, of course. But if you want to realize the potential of what it means to be human, if you want to unfold your humanity, if you want to unfold your genius, all you need is a space where the outside doesn＂t really enter.
　　所以这是低效，不要管那叫忙。那只是思虑重。这种思虑重现在成了一种全球现象，因为人们不知道如何坐，如何呼吸，如何自立，因为所有的教育体系都不教这些。他们告诉你，如果你吃蛋白质维他命、这个那个的话，就会没事，一切都会没事。你当然能生存下来。但如果你想了悟生而为人的潜力，如果你想发挥自己的人性，如果你想发挥自己的天赋，你所需要的就是一个外部影响不到的空间。
　　You need a space within you where just this is there. The world is around you. Actually, the world is only around you, it is not inside of you. But for most human beings it is inside. They close their eyes, it will drive them crazy from inside. So, this is because nothing has been done, no work has been done on such a phenomena of a machine. The most sophisticated technology on the planet is this one. Nothing has been done, even to find the livers, or... can＂t even say a keyboard anymore – touch screen. What does what? Mhmm. Somehow.
　　你内在需要一个空间，那里只有这个。世界在外面。事实上，世界只在你外面，它并不在你里面。但对于大多数人而言，它是在里面的。他们闭上眼睛，世界能从里面把他们逼疯。所以，这是因为什么都没做，没有对这个如此非凡的机器下过功夫。地球上最精密的技术就是这个。但什么都没做过，即便是要找到控制杆，或……现在都不能说键盘了——触摸屏。什么是做什么的，嗯？无论如何。
　　So, in trying to fix the world for our comfort, we are coming to a point where we are destroying the very source of our existence. It is far more dire than people think it is right now. We may be directly involved, we may not be directly involved, but we are 100% responsible for everything that every human being does in this world, and everything that is happening and not happening, because this is what consciousness means. This is what becoming a human being means, because every other creature is structured in a way that it is defined as to what it is. The only undefined life on this planet is the human being. And this is what a whole lot of human beings are suffering. They would like a definition – this is why they attach themselves to a philosophy, an ideology, a religion, a belief system, because they are trying to put themselves into a definition. But the greatest beauty of being human is, this life is not defined. It is not defined means it＂s free, that＂s what it means!
　　所以，在为求舒适而改造世界的过程中，我们到了要毁掉我们存在之源的地步了。现在的情况比人们想得要严峻得多。我们可能直接参与其中，也可能是间接参与，但在这个世界上每个人所做的每件事，我们都是百分之百有责任的，以及任何一件发生的和没有发生的事，因为这就是意识的含义。这就是生而为人所意味的，因为所有其它生物是这样构造的，即它是什么都是确定好的。这个世界上唯一没有确定下来的生命就是人类。而这却是无数人正在遭受的痛苦。他们想要个条条框框——这就是为何他们会依附于一种哲学、意识形态、宗教、信仰系统，因为他们想把自己放在某个条条框框之内。但是生而为人的最美妙之处就在于，这个生命是不确定的。不确定就意味着是自由的，就是这个意思！
　　But freedom is a scary thing. You would like to be among the 4 walls because freedom looks like... scary. But that＂s what you always try for, unknowingly. When it comes, you are afraid. This is something to be addressed. This coming year I hope every one of you will address this fundamental aspect: are you living to be free, to be liberated, or are you living just to establish more and more bondage in your life? So, at a time like this, or at any time for that matter, an intelligent human being will make use of every situation for his or her growth. A fool will make every situation turn against themselves and cause pain to themselves and to everybody around them.
　　但自由是很吓人的。你想活在围墙之内，因为自由看起来……很吓人。但那是你不知不觉中一直在追求的。当它到来时，你却害怕了。这是需要解决的。在接下来的一年，我希望你们每个人都把这一根本方面解决好：你是为自由，为解放而活，还是只为制造越来越多的束缚而活？所以在这样一个时候，或在任何时候，一个有智慧的人会利用任何情形来让自己成长。而一个愚蠢的人会让所有情形跟自己对抗，并给自己和周围所有人制造痛苦。
　　This is all there is to life: is your brains working for life, or against life? So, if you lived a year full of foolishness, and suddenly tomorrow morning with resolution you will come awake, no. One has to strive. But at the same time, a human being can make up their mind you＂re going this way. You can make up your mind, turn around, and go this way. You have the ability to do this. I＂m telling you, you are the only one who has the ability to do it upon this planet as a human being, all other creatures are ruled by pre-existing definitions within themselves, they can only do that which they are programmed for. This is the only one which is largely unprogrammed, so you can make up your mind. You can make a conscious decision as to how I will be. This is not a small privilege. This is the highest privilege and freedom that has been interested upon life upon this planet. Let＂s make it happen.
　　生命不外乎这些：你的头脑是在顺应生命，还是在抗拒生命？所以，如果你一整年都活在愚蠢中，突然明天早上凭借着决心就能觉醒，不是的。那是需要用功的。但与此同时，人是可以做出决定的。你在朝这个方向走，你可以做出决定，回过头来朝这走。你有能力这么做。我要告诉你，在这个地球上，作为人类，你是唯一有能力这么做的，其它所有生物都是被先天的内在定义所主宰着，它们只能做既定的事情。这是唯一一个基本上没有被既定的生命，所以你可以自己下决心。你可以有意识地决定要成为什么样子。这不是个不起眼的特权。这是这个地球上的生命被赋予的最大特权和自由。让我们实现它。
